Elmira Downtown Development is proud to announce that preparations have begun for the annual Elmira Street Painting Festival! In 2020, only 10 artists were allowed to participate in the virtual festival because of COVID. We were however able to create the art right at our sponsors businesses. As this signature downtown Elmira event continues to grow, we are excited to announce some new and expanded initiatives for 2021 if we are able to hold our traditional festival:

Chalk It Up for our Youth : Taking place in four different locations around Elmira throughout June, this "outdoor classroom" will teach 60 local students (grades 3 -12) the art of street painting while they explore and develop their own artistic abilities.

Artists and Crafts: Many arts vendors will display their wares.

Multiple Live Music & Dance Acts throughout festival on Water Street's Main Stage. 

The continued success of the Elmira Street Painting Festival is thanks to the support of our many volunteers and sponsors, without whom the event would simply not be possible.
